My thought on Vatican and SSPX recent update.

As we can know on the internet, there’s a “small” dissent on Holy See with SSPX. Some of the people said that what SSPX does will lead to schism(?). This is a complex problem involving many people.

What’s SSPX?

The Society of St. Pius X as known as SSPX is an international traditional Catholic priestly fraternity founded in 1970 by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre. It rejects many reforms of the Second Vatican Council. They emphasizes the Traditional Latin Mass (Vetus Ordo Mass) and the doctrine before Second Vatican Council. This led to complex and irregular canonical status with the Holy See.

What’s really happening here?

SSPX wants to consecrate new bishop but they haven’t got permission from the Rome yet.
